This hall was completed with funds donated by the late Masakazu Shiiki (founder of Sanyo Shinpan Finance Co., Ltd., subsequently absorbed into SMBC Consumer Finance Co., Ltd.) to commemorate Kyushu University’s centenary. It consists of the Concert Hall with a seating capacity of approximately 3,000, a large open space called the Galleria, and administrative facilities. The Shiiki Hall has become a landmark of this university.

It stands in the center of the Ito Campus of Kyushu University. It is circular in shape with a diameter of 100m and consists of a hall and an administration building. It was designed as a place for students to gather together, including for entrance ceremonies and degree conferment ceremonies. Mr. Shiiki Masakazu, the founder of Sanyo Shinpan, sympathized with Kyushu University's philosophy of becoming a world-class educational and research center of the highest standard, and donated the building to the university on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2011.
